Sachin Tendulkar named in Asia Cup squad

The big news, Sachin Tendulkar is part of the 15-member squad for Asia Cup, while out-of-form Virender Sehwag has been dropped from the team, according to NDTV sources.

The selection committee of the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) - Kris Srikkanth, Mohinder Amarnath, Narendra Hirwani, Surendra Bhave and Raja Venkat - met in Mumbai this morning to pick the squad for the tournament that begins in Dhaka, Bangladesh from March 12.

Tendulkar, who made 143 runs in 7 matches Down Under, has been under tremendous pressure to take a decision on his one-day career. But the master batsman is all set to board a plane to Bangladesh. The tournament will be keenly watched as India will play old foe Pakistan, apart from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.Sehwag, who looked off-colour during the Australian tour, managed to score just 65 runs in 5 matches at an average of 13.
