The debate on ‘walking' rages on
Ponting, Jayawardene leave it to the umpires; Tendulkar chooses to ‘walk'
n India's final World Cup group game against the West Indies in Chennai on Sunday, Sachin Tendulkar ‘walked'.
Tendulkar had nicked one off Ravi Rampaul to 'keeper Devon Thomas. But, umpire Steve Davis had evidently failed to spot the fine edge that even TV cameras would probably have struggled to pick up.
But Tendulkar just turned around, tucked his bat under his arm and walked. That has been a rare occurrence this World Cup.
Australia captain Ricky Ponting had reignited the walking debate after admitting that he had stood his ground despite knowing he had been caught behind in his team's defeat to Pakistan on Saturday.
