Virender Sehwag rubbishes Chappell remarks on Sachin

sachin-file-350_102811083906Rubbishing former Indian coach Greg Chappell's remarks about batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has said that Sachin had piled a heap of runs while facing the fiercest pace attack from West Indies, Pakistan and Australia.

" Had it been the case with Sachin, could he play cricket for such a long time? He began his career while facing top pacers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Yunus in Pakistan. West Indies pace attack was still ferocious when he started piled runs", Sehwag said while addressing a press conference in his cricket academy in Jhajjar on Saturday.

Chappell had remarked in his book that Sachin had been in mentally fragile state at occasions. This came in the aftermath of Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar claim that Sachin was scared of facing him. Stating that such statements are absurd without any substance, Sehwag said that these remarks are being made for obvious reasons (of seeking publicity). "Everybody knows the intention behind such statements", he said.
