When Samuels came 'knocking' on Sachin's door

The wait for Sachin Tendulkar's 100th ton may have continued longer than expected, but to give the benefit of doubt to the Master Blaster let's accept great players need challenges to keep boredom away.

The maestro looked calm despite net bowlers mobbing him for pictures on the eve of the third Test at the Wankhede, but Sachin found a surprise admirer on Monday.

2_Omgsachin As he took a break post a gruelling hour-long batting session, playing pace and spin at separate nets, Marlon Samuels walked up to Tendulkar brandishing two new bats. The Little Master swiftly grabbed one and started knocking on it to find the sweet spot. Samuels, too, picked up one of Sachin's blades and the two got involved in an animated discussion.

Tendulkar, it may be noted is obsessive about his cricketing equipment and his knowledge of bats is second to none. Samuels, who has struggled to find his feet ever since making a comeback after the ban for match-fixing, would have benefited from the chat big time.

If the talented Jamaican scores runs at the Wankhede and stops India in their quest of a clean sweep, Dhoni & Co. will have no one to blame but Tendulkar for sharing his knowledge with the man.
