Tendulkar sacrifices century, Match Drawn

Indian superstar Sachin Tendulkar sacrificed a century to give his team-mates vital batting practice ahead of the Boxing Day Test.

Test cricket’s leading runscorer retired at tea on 92 as India finished the match at 6-320 in reply to the Chairman’s XI total of 6-398. Stumps were called at Manuka Oval 45 minutes early due to rain. VVs Laxman also retired unbeaten on 57, while Rohit Sharma finished the day 56 not out alongside wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha on 23.
