Sachin Tendulkar visits Matoshree a day after Bal Thackeray's cremation

A day after Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray was cremated, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar paid a condolence visit to the family on Monday. Sachin was accompanied by his wife Anjali when he visited Matoshree on Monday night.

The cricketer was away in Ahmedabad for the test match against England when Thackeray died on Saturday. Tendulkar had said he was saddened to hear about Thackeray's demise, saying the Shiv Sena chief would always be remembered and missed.

He had said, "Really sad to hear about Balasaheb's demise. His contribution to Maharashtra was immense. It's a terrible loss and he will always be remembered and missed. Unfortunately I am in Ahmedabad as I would have liked to pay my last respects personally. My condolences to his family. May God rest his soul in peace.
