It was a sudden end to what had been building as a fairytale innings. Sachin Tendulkar smashed 12 fours and faced 118 balls, playing both spin and pace bowlers with ease and executing several shots that he has been famous for - the straight drive, cover drive and the paddle-sweep. "Thank you for the memories Sachin. We will miss you," an emotional Sunil Gavaskar, former India captain and Sachin Tendulkar's childhood hero, said from the commentary box as the batsman marched towards the changing rooms for possibly the last time.

Sachin Tendulkar will be conferred with Bharat Ratna. The official announcement was made by a release from the Prime Minister's Office hours after Sachin’s 200th Test was over on November 16, 2013

6. October 10, 2013

The Day When Sachin Tendulkar decided to call it quit. In a media statement released through the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday afternoon, the 40-year-old Tendulkar said his 200th Test will be the last time he will be seen in India colours.

Mumbai Indians gave a fitting farewell to Sachin Tendulkar's T20 career by notching up a comprehensive 33-run victory over Rajasthan Royals to clinch the Champions League Twenty20 title. This is the second CLT20 title for the IPL-6 winners, having won the 2011 edition.
