Sachin commands base price of Rs 1.84 cr at IPL’s January auction

The bidding for top Indian players — Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh — will start at Rs 1.84 crores during the Season 4 IPL player auction.

The BCCI, on Saturday, released a list to all the state associations that had the minimum prices some select players would command at the January auction.

Yusuf Pathan’s tag of T20 specialist was reiterated when he was clubbed in the second price bracket of Rs 1.38cr along with Zaheer Khan and Suresh Raina while rest of Team India mates were pegged at Rs 92 lakhs each. Retired Indian skippers Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble were also included in this bracket.

According to BCCI sources, the base price have been chalked out after comprehensive homework keeping in mind their past IPL, domestic and international performance and seniority.
